The 350-year-old Mukteshwar temple in Mukteshwar town, Nainital, is preserving its legacy. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is well-known among his followers. This temple is both gorgeous and sacred, perched 2,312 meters above sea level. As ardent devotees of Shiva, the Pandavas built this temple during their 12-year banishment with the intention of achieving Mukti, or deliverance from their unhappy existence.
Thousands of visitors and devotees visit the temple each year to take in the breathtaking views and ask for blessings. Views of the magnificent snow-covered Himalayan range, including Nandakot, Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, and Nanda Devi, the second-highest peak in India, are available.
